About the Role

Job Description:

As a Technical Artist on Minecraft Blast, you will be a vital member of the team - working with content creators to diagnose and resolve production bottlenecks, while collaborating with fellow tool developers to create and operate the overall pipeline.

We're looking for creative thinkers & problem solvers, not years of experience - A hungry for knowledge generalist would be a perfect fit.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow alongside our TechArt team, hopefully teaching us a thing or two along the way!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supporting content creators integrating their work into Unity
  • Maintaining communication with the many different crafts across the team
  • Research and development / proactive automation
  • Identifying production bottlenecks & proposing solutions
  • Collaborate closely with fellow tools developers

Required Skills & Experience:

  • An inquisitive, technical mindset eager to work with a passionate team
  • General knowledge of a broad spectrum of the games development field
  • Knowledge of visual scripting systems and node graphs
  • Experience with the Unity game engine and editor
  • Scripting experience with 3d software packages such as Blender, Maya or Houdini

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Game engine (C#) scripting experience
  • Version control - Knowing how to get the most out of Git & Perforce
  • Profiling & Performance - Analyzing performance data & recommending improvements
  • Graphics & Rendering - Creating complex visual effects with shaders, particles and procedural geo
  • Rigging & Animation - Authoring rigs & animations, handling modular characters & customization
  • Tools & Pipelines - Developing tools that feel good to use / intuitive
  • Mentorship experience - Ability to guide and inform others on best practices & workflow nuances
  • Knowing some of these keywords: ClipEvents, ShaderGraph, Blender, Validator, State Machines, Blend fields, Navmeshes, Timelines, Particle System, Root Motion, Atlasing
