Software Engineer
Your role within the Kingdom:
Within Candy Crush Soda Saga, we’re hiring Senior Software Engineers across multiple teams with different technical focuses – from large-scale systems and architecture to player-facing gameplay features and experiences. Depending on your background and interests, you could join either:
Central Technology Team – acts as the technical foundation for Soda, building and evolving core client systems, engine-level technology, shared frameworks and tooling, and large-scale architectural solutions. This role combines high-level system design with hands-on implementation in a large, complex C++ codebase.
Meta Product Area Team – focuses on building engaging player-facing systems and experiences that sit on top of the core gameplay loop, including competitions, progression systems, social and collaborative features, and live game experiences. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy feature development, product impact, and creating experiences directly used by millions of players.
Across both teams, you’ll work in a creative, collaborative environment where your ideas are valued as much as your technical expertise.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining new systems and game features
- Building high-quality, maintainable, and scalable C++ solutions
- Working with large and complex codebases
- Improving existing systems, architecture, and technical foundations
- Taking ownership of features and systems from concept through production
- Collaborating closely with engineers, technical leaders, designers, and product teams
- Optimizing performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Contributing to technical strategy and best practices
- Coaching and mentoring other engineers
Skills to create thrills:
- Highly proficient in C++, with experience working in large codebases
- Comfortable taking ownership of systems or features end-to-end
- Passionate about building high-quality, polished solutions
- Skilled at breaking down complex technical challenges into manageable tasks
- Collaborative and proactive, with strong communication skills
- Interested in either:
- systems architecture, engine technology, and foundational engineering
- or gameplay-adjacent systems and player-facing features
Bonus points:
- Experience in the games industry
- Experience with Android or iOS development
- Experience working with memory/performance-critical applications
- Experience working with large-scale or legacy systems
- Experience with graphics programming, rendering, or optimization
- Experience building tools or frameworks
- Experience with scripting languages
