About the Role
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Animation and Design teams to effectively communicate the personality of the characters through visual effects (VFX).
- Work closely with the Art Director and technical artists to implement and expand upon VFX in our game.
- Work to develop pipelines and processes as they relate to our game’s VFX.
- Apply your understanding of how to optimize VFX for performance while maintaining visual appeal.
- Explore new ways to help work through technical and visual limitations.
- Consistently strive to exceed the highest quality standards of the studio.
Minimum requirements:
- Three (3) years of experience in the position offered, Video Game Designer, or related.
Must have experience with:
- Artistic and technical skills in VFX
- Real time particle systems and latest VFX tools
- 3D and 2D content creation tools
- Node-based shader systems
- Competitive multiplayer game development
- Designing hand-painted VFX
- Custom shader creation (node-based or code) scripting languages
- Multiple shipped titles
Skills may be gained through academic coursework and concurrently while pursuing academic studies.
Salary: $90,293 – $145,000 per year
