About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Animation and Design teams to effectively communicate the personality of the characters through visual effects (VFX).
  • Work closely with the Art Director and technical artists to implement and expand upon VFX in our game.
  • Work to develop pipelines and processes as they relate to our game’s VFX.
  • Apply your understanding of how to optimize VFX for performance while maintaining visual appeal.
  • Explore new ways to help work through technical and visual limitations.
  • Consistently strive to exceed the highest quality standards of the studio.

Minimum requirements:

  • Three (3) years of experience in the position offered, Video Game Designer, or related.

Must have experience with:

  • Artistic and technical skills in VFX
  • Real time particle systems and latest VFX tools
  • 3D and 2D content creation tools
  • Node-based shader systems
  • Competitive multiplayer game development
  • Designing hand-painted VFX
  • Custom shader creation (node-based or code) scripting languages
  • Multiple shipped titles

Skills may be gained through academic coursework and concurrently while pursuing academic studies.

Salary: $90,293 – $145,000 per year
