Job Description:
At Brown Bag Films we love animation™ and put our artists at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a QC Operator to join our Dublin studio and provide quality control on content created at BBF/9Story, finalising master files for broadcast delivery. This is a fixed‑term, 12‑month contract with a hybrid model (minimum two days per week on‑site). You must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of the contract.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake content QC and create reports to enable review and progression to the next stage.
- Encode media files and check them to ensure the encodes are error free.
- Create master files for broadcasters, including multi‑track laybacks.
- Deliver master files and associated paperwork to broadcasters.
- Run media file transfers.
- Maintain storage libraries, keep track of data files and folder structures, and ensure BBF content housekeeping is accurate and up to date.
- Proactively resolve quality issues and problems.
- Log time into project time‑logging software daily.
- Work with the Technology team in implementing new QC‑related technologies.
- Implement QC processes and workflows, both technical and administrative.
Requirements:
- Knowledge: Technical knowledge of 4K/HD/SD file‑based delivery, including encoding a variety of different file formats; in‑depth understanding of video and audio standards (colour management, field order, frame rates, codecs, audio loudness specifications).
- Experience: Demonstrable experience working in a Post Production/TV facility; video QC, programme mastering and broadcast delivery.
- Technical Experience: Advanced‑level edit platform and file‑format transcoding skills.
Salary: €32,000 – €40,000
