Linux DevOps Engineer
We are Grinding Gear Games, creators of the award-winning dark fantasy Action RPG Path of Exile. We are seeking a Linux DevOps Engineer to join our server administration team at our office in Auckland, New Zealand.
Location: On-site in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand Relocation assistance (for the right candidate, if needed) Full time position - 40 hours a week
Responsibilities:
As one of our server administrators you will be responsible for supporting both our online game, Path of Exile, as well as our internal server infrastructure. You will also help maintain and improve the tooling and automation required by these systems.
To be considered you will need to have several years experience managing servers in a production environment, as well as a strong background in programming server-related automation (e.g. deployment and maintenance-related tasks).
Requirements:
- Cloud technology including managing VMs via APIs
- Assembling computer hardware and diagnosing hardware faults
- Compiling packages from source and creating custom debs/rpms
- Continuous integration (e.g. Buildbot)
- Our game, Path of Exile
Technologies used in this role - the more of these (or similar products) you have experience with, the better:
- Ubuntu and CentOS Linux distributions
- Python
- Bash
- Zabbix
- NGINX
- PostgreSQL
- Configuration management (e.g. Ansible)
On-Call rotation:
Two days in lieu will be credited at the end of your rostered on-call week. If a call out occurs outside your usual working hours, you'll be paid time and a half for the time spent working.
**You must be willing to participate in a basic scripting aptitude test using python, as well as a general practical test to assess Linux shell familiarity.
You also must be willing to be on-call on rotation.**
