About the Role
Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing and refining game mechanics, levels, quests, and gameplay systems
- Collaborate closely with artists, programmers, and other designers to bring creative ideas to life
- Playtest and provide feedback on features, quests, and levels to ensure fun, balance, and flow
- Create and maintain design documentation, detailing gameplay features, mechanics, quests, and systems
- Help with the prototyping of new gameplay ideas and features
- Support the design team in balancing game features and systems to achieve desired player experiences
Requirements:
- A strong portfolio that highlights your design skills, thought process, and key decision-making abilities within game design
- Recently completed a degree in Game Design, Interactive Media, or a related discipline, and/or have equivalent hands-on experience
- A strong passion for game design, with a keen understanding of player experience and engagement
- Familiarity with game design principles such as pacing, balance, and reward systems
- Basic knowledge of game engines
- Strong creative and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate design ideas effectively
Bonus points:
- Basic knowledge of Unreal Engine and Blueprints
- Interest in PC/Console games particularly in the Life Sim or Action/Adventure genres
