We are currently looking for a Episodic Director to join our talented team here at our Dublin studio. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality animation of assigned episodes within agreed scope by collaborating with the Director and working closely with your client, and by leading the in-house and overseas partner studio teams.
This role will need to lead the teams through their assigned episodes – from Assets then Storyboards through visuals and revisions, which will expedite the Animatic Process with the Client and then follow through with strong Animation leadership to deliver to Postproduction with minimal or no delays.
This is a Fixed-Term, 12-Month contract based in Dublin.
Please note that our studio operates on a hybrid model, with a minimum of two days per week required in the studio.
The successful candidate must have the right to work in Ireland for the duration of the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the Director to create the highest quality production within the constraints of the project budget and schedule. (Note: This is a key focus for this role, Schedule knowledge, adherence and awareness is essential to help teamwork within constraints of schedule and assumptions)
- Taking day-to-day ownership of your assigned episodes through all phases of production.
- Reviewing episode scripts and providing directorial notes across all assigned episodes.
- Leading tech review meeting outlining direction for episode, feeding discussion with Art Director/CG Supervisor on staging and asset requirements related to story.
- Attending dailies as required to provide feedback on story related assets.
- Annotating record draft script with notes and providing visual references for staging and placement, as required for Storyboard Artist.
- Attending launch calls with Storyboard Artists and animation teams to kick off phases.
- Approving storyboard for post-production handover.
- Reviewing and providing notes for edits from animatic, animation & offline.
- Reviewing storyboard panel revisions for approval for editorial.
- Reviewing and responding to Client feedback across multiple episodes and phases and attending client calls and pitching solutions and ideas.
- Reviewing and managing retakes for approval.
Key Requirements:
Experience (Essential)
- Must have 5+ years in Senior Storyboarding experience and/or Animation Director experience on at least 2 long-form Film/TV and/or Animation productions
- Likely to have had at least 1 credit as Animation Director / Storyboard Director.
- Strong experience in creatively leading all levels of crew and artistic staff.
- Successful track record of working with Clients and executive leadership teams.
- Experience in creatively communicating through drawings
Knowledge (Essential)
- Comprehensive understanding of 3D animation pipeline and processes.
- Creative Communication: this role requires exceptional drawing skills to communicate ideas visually rather than just with notes
- Schedule knowledge and awareness is essential to help team keep within constraints of schedule and assumptions
- Strong applied understanding in storyboarding, animation camera composition, storytelling and animation timing required.
- Working knowledge of CG animation and postproduction techniques and terminology required.

Salary: 65,000.00 - 75,000.00
