About the Role
Location: Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands
Contract: Fixed-term, Full-time employee contract (no freelance)
Duration: From June 2026 to April 2027 approximately
Work setup: 100% On-site in Tenerife
About the studio: ATLANTIS ANIMATION is an animation studio based in Tenerife, specializing in high-quality animated series and feature films. They produced the series Tara Duncan and Miraculous Ladybug season 5 (broadcast on Disney Channel and Disney +). Currently working on Messi and the Giants, a series produced by Sony Music Vision, Sony Pictures Television Kids, and Leo Messi Management, broadcast by Disney.
What you'll do:
- Lead and mentor a team of compositors, assigning work and monitoring progress
- Ensure all shots meet the creative direction and quality standards set by the project's Creative Director and client
- Attend client reviews and lead daily reviews with the compositing team
- Maintain visual consistency across sequences and shots
- Develop creative solutions to enhance shots while supporting the storytelling
- Ensure consistency of compositing across all shots
- Review renders and cross-check that they are up to standard
- Stay organised across multiple shots, versions, and render management
- Maintain clean, well-structured Nuke scripts and file organisation
- Support the development and use of templates and workflows
- Collaborate proactively with production, upstream departments, and pipeline teams
What we're looking for:
- A minimum of six years of Compositing experience
- Proven experience as a Compositing Lead on CG-heavy projects (animation, film, TV, or similar)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Expert knowledge of Nuke
- Experience creating gizmos and templated workflows
- Python scripting is a plus
- Solid understanding of photography and camera principles
- Strong artistic eye for composition, colour, lighting, and mood
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work efficiently under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and fluent English
- Valid EU/Spanish work permit required
- Availability to work on-site in Tenerife
